For over 100 years, Catholic Charities supports and empowers individuals and families through its broad scope of programs, including housing and homeless services, mental health, adoption, immigration and family support We are seeking a motivated individual for a full-time (35 hours/week), benefits-eligible Housing Coordinator position within its homeless services division in Danbury.
This unique position is responsible for helping households experiencing homelessness to secure permanent housing, and engaging and building relationships with landlords to increase available housing.
The Housing Coordinator completes housing stabilization plans and enters client service data and outcome reporting as required by funders.
The Housing Coordinator maintains positive working relationships with the Coordinated Access Network (CAN) and other providers, and attends required and relevant local and statewide meetings and trainings.
Requirements and Essential Skills:
Demonstrated experience in real estate or case management with individuals affected by significant barriers, or a combination thereof.
Individuals with lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Ability to network and build strong relationships with landlords and communicate the benefits of various housing subsidies.
Knowledge of issues related to homelessness, mental illness and/or substance abuse preferred.
Ability to work autonomously, and as a member of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated computer literacy; ability to multi-task.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Driver's license and proof of insurance required.
