Human Resources Generalist
Responsibilities:
The HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting the human resources functions at Savings Bank of Danbury.
This individual will be responsible for various HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, payroll, compliance, and HR administration.
The HR Generalist will collaborate closely with management and employees to ensure the implementation of HR policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Payroll and Benefits Enters, maintains, and processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
Maintains all Time and Attendance data.
Ensures timely and proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, 401K contributions, and other deductions.
Maintains accurate and organized payroll files and all supporting documentation.
Collects collateral material and generates/creates reports for all internal and external audits impacting the Human Resources department.
Supports the annual Open Enrollment initiative.
Assist employees during open enrollment and though out the year with all benefits related inquires.
Recruiting Manage the recruitment process by sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for various positions within the bank; collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Coordinate and facilitate new employee onboarding, including conducting orientations and ensuring completion of all necessary paperwork.
Employee Relations Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource responsibilities including but not limited to benefits, and FMLA leave, employee disciplinary matters and performance and talent management.
Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the VP of Human Resources.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations when appropriate.
Compliance Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Assist with HR audits and compliance initiatives, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations payroll, HRIS and talent management systems.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
At least three years of human resource experience preferred.
SHRM-CP a plus.
