Responsibilities
We are seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to conduct process audits with the intent of capturing tribal knowledge. The output of these audits will start the mistake proofing process. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the monthly metric as it relates to the PDM and OPEX. This position will provide quality assurance support to the quality organization and other departments of the organization as well as customers, suppliers and partners in specific domains of expertise. The role will be to execute the Quality Assurance strategy of the organization in a support capacity to ensure continuous production of products and services consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements. The successful candidate will take a lead role in key areas of the quality function in order to achieve overall business goals. Responsibilities to include: 1. Support the Quality organization in maintaining compliance to all required internal and external standards. Understand and follow all procedures and standards required to perform the duties of the position. Declare and support investigation for any escapes that might occur following approved methods. Contribute to applicable root cause and corrective action requirements. 2. Develop and analyze data as well as product and process performance as tasked and recommend improvement plans in targeted areas. Support implementation of the plans and provide mistake proofing tools to targeted areas as applicable. 3. Initiate efforts to become certified in specific process areas such as Non-Destructive Test, Calibration, Metrology, Performance Testing, Laboratory, and Internal Audit in support of required duties associated with the process. Develop planning to become certified in required areas. 4. Support the initiatives of the organization in the development, implementation and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, with all the documentation required. This would include providing quality planning support in the development and launch of new products, processes and services. 5. Provide support to Quality Engineering relative to process controls and preventing nonconforming material. Establish the basic root causes and corrective actions utilizing six sigma tools and the A3 process. 6. Participate in the internal Quality System Audit program for the organization. Support the process in various capacities such as being on an audit team, helping to develop root cause and corrective action as applicable as well as improving the audit process. Also facilitate customer or regulatory audits. 7. Provide support to the organization in their continuous improvement activities. Travel required: 10-20%
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline. Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline. Entry level position requiring relevant experience gained through internships and school assignments. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Education Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline. US Citizenship required in support of security clearance requirements.
